Common Questions About Your Senior Pictures

What is a “Senior Session” and why do I need one?

As the upper classman in your high school, the senior picture section of the yearbook is the most important. You have made it through 12 years of education, and your yearbook wants to recognize your graduating class.

Therefore, you can have a Studio portrait taken in a higher quality image, unlike the ‘school days’ photo you used to..  Our professional staff and senior photographer will help you create those special images of you, for your yearbook and personal  portraits . There are many choices of imaging and backgrounds for you to choose in addition to your yearbook image.  From all these images, you can order prints to share with your family and friends.

What do I need to do for the yearbook image?

Please review all the information sent home to you with your appointment and if you have any questions, check out our website further, under school dress codes, or give us a call!  Some schools have very specific dress requirements so it will enable the yearbook to achieve consistent quality in printing.  Be ready for your Senior Picture Session.  Please check out our suggestions about clothing, hair and make-up in the “Getting ready” section of this website.  Be sure to have your fees with you also.

What do I do if I have a ‘bad hair day’, or got sunburned or am ill? Should I reschedule?

YES!  Sign into your account at www.southcoastphotographic.com and look for the new appointment button. We suggest not to have a brand new hair style, in case you are not happy with the look.  Give a new style some time before your portrait session.  And if you are not feeling well, it shows.  Sunburned skin can’t be corrected naturally. Hair, clothing and excessive corrections are an additional charge to fix on your portraits.

What if my face breaks out?

If you have an instance that is not normal for you and there is time to make the deadline for yearbook, if you’d feel more comfortable rescheduling, please reschedule on-line through your senior account.  Your yearbook image can be retouched for an additional fee, if you are not placing an order. Otherwise, studio retouching will be done on your image(s) in production for your personal print order. Remember, your proofs are not retouched.

If I reschedule my appointment, will I miss the yearbook deadline?

Not necessarily, but there is a deadline, so DO NOT wait, reschedule on-line right away!  Please refer to your on-line account for your school’s deadline information.

If I can’t get the money together, what do I do?

Please contact the studio.  Depending upon deadlines, financial arrangements can be worked out.  You do not want to miss the yearbook deadline.

After I take my senior picture images, what happens?

We will post your proofs in your on-line account.  Please select a yearbook image within 2 weeks.  If the studio has not received one, or if the deadline has passed the studio will select one for you, to guarantee you make the yearbook. You may order your personal prints anytime throughout the school year, but keep in mind your Bonus Coupon is only valid until December 31, 2021.  Remember to order early for your senior pages, or grad announcements or special awards. If you have any concerns, please feel free to call our staff for assistance.

How do I order my portrait prints?

Please sign in to your account at www.southcoastphotographic.com, click on “place an order”, put in your customer number and school ID to get to your account. From there, click the order button and continue.

What happens after my order is placed?

Normal production is approximately 2 to 3 weeks, depending on the time of year.  During our busier yearbook deadline season, it can take longer, or if you’ve requested additional custom artwork, production can take up to 8 weeks. So we suggest to order your portrait prints or images early in order to meet senior page, awards, college applications, grad announcements and other deadlines that you need your senior images for.  When your order is complete, we will notify you or ship depending on arrangements made.
